Project Receives Award

The City has been awarded the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association’s (OAPA) Professional Achievement in Planning Award for the Residential Districts Review project.

This award recognizes a planning project of exceptional merit. The Residential Districts Review was a Council Work Plan project that established two new land use districts, promoted residential lot size compatibility and ensured residential density was located in appropriate locations. The project also created an innovative housing demonstration project code.

Corridor Districts Community Forum

The City of Gresham is examining issues and opportunities in our corridor districts. These are located along roads that are served by TriMet bus and MAX lines. The City would like your input on these issues and opportunities. Please come to a workshop to learn more and share your thoughts.

Issues include:

  • compatibility
  • mixed-use developments
  • safety
  • corridor identity
  • and residential densities

Your input is needed on efforts to allow innovative housing in Gresham.

Property owners, business owners, residents and other interested parties are invited for a workshop at 6:30PM Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at City Hall. The meeting will be in Rooms 2A and 2B on the second floor of City Hall

Examples of innovative housing include:

  • Cottages (often facing courtyards)
  • Neighborhoods with a mix of housing types, such as single-family homes, duplexes, and tri-plexes
  • Cluster developments that group housing onto one part of a site to preserve open space or natural features on the rest of the site

The City is considering changing its Development Code to allow innovative housing types or configurations

Proposal

The land division proposal to be submitted is located at 2120 NE 162nd Ave. The property is located on the East side of 162nd Ave and North of Halsey St. The legal description of the property is Parcel #1 of Partition Plat No. 1995-151, located within the City of Gresham and Multnomah County, and the Multnomah County tax identification number is R-238920.

Wilkes East Land Use Update November 2024

Hello members of our Wilkes East Neighborhood Association. The Wilkes East Neighborhood Association board regularly receives land use plans from the City of Gresham to notify us of land use projects within or proximity to the Wilkes East neighborhood boundaries.

Pre-application PRE-24-00239 16651 NE WASCO ST PORTLAND, OR 97230. Application date 4/19/2024: Proposed standard partition for the creation of (2) parent parcels, one of which is proposed as a flag lot. They are each proposed to contain a quadplex, a permitted housing type in this zone. Current zoning Residential 7 LDR7. Once finalized a MHLD (Middle Housing Land Division) will be applied for. Demolition permit DEMO-24-00044 was issued on 02/12/2024 to remove a single-family home and wooden shed from the property.

Design review DR 23-00425 NE Glisan Habitat for Humanity project.
Location 17640 NE Glisan Portland, Or 97230 (across from Nadaka Nature Park). This is a development of 20 two-story dwelling units arranged in 10 duplex buildings with 28 parking spaces, landscape and open spaces. Lot consolidation of 17616 and 17636 NE Glisan was required to form one lot of 17640 NE Glisan. Total land size is 1.41 acre. Tree removal and land clearing has begun. There will be several mature trees in the rear of the property that will be preserved as part of the open space. Street side improvement will include landscaping. Watch for street side improvements and heavy construction equipment.
