The City Council unanimously approved amending the Development Code regarding issues from the 2009 Development Code Improvement Project and the 2009 Corridor Districts Review project at its hearing on June 15, 2010. The enactment reading will occur on July 6, 2010, with an effective date of August 5, 2010. The approved language may be found here under “June 15 Public Hearing.”

Project Receives Award
The City has been awarded the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association’s (OAPA) Professional Achievement in Planning Award for the Residential Districts Review project.
This award recognizes a planning project of exceptional merit. The Residential Districts Review was a Council Work Plan project that established two new land use districts, promoted residential lot size compatibility and ensured residential density was located in appropriate locations. The project also created an innovative housing demonstration project code.

Corridor Districts Community Forum
The City of Gresham is examining issues and opportunities in our corridor districts. These are located along roads that are served by TriMet bus and MAX lines. The City would like your input on these issues and opportunities. Please come to a workshop to learn more and share your thoughts.
Issues include:
- compatibility
- mixed-use developments
- safety
- corridor identity
- and residential densities

Picturing the Future survey
The City is asking for help in determining the future look of development in the City. Take the Picturing the Future survey at www.GreshamOregon.gov/live. Those completing the survey get a chance to win one of seven prizes, including a $65 Home Depot gift card.

Share Your Thoughts With Us
Your input is needed on efforts to allow innovative housing in Gresham.
Property owners, business owners, residents and other interested parties are invited for a workshop at 6:30PM Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at City Hall. The meeting will be in Rooms 2A and 2B on the second floor of City Hall
Examples of innovative housing include:
- Cottages (often facing courtyards)
- Neighborhoods with a mix of housing types, such as single-family homes, duplexes, and tri-plexes
- Cluster developments that group housing onto one part of a site to preserve open space or natural features on the rest of the site
The City is considering changing its Development Code to allow innovative housing types or configurations

The land division proposal to be submitted is located at 2120 NE 162nd Ave. The property is located on the East side of 162nd Ave and North of Halsey St. The legal description of the property is Parcel #1 of Partition Plat No. 1995-151, located within the City of Gresham and Multnomah County, and the Multnomah County tax identification number is R-238920.
The proposal is to divide the property in a fashion that would allow a 2nd buildable lot to be created under the current zoning and planning codes of the City of Gresham.

Wilkes East Land Use Update, Summer 2025

Hello members of our Wilkes East Neighborhood Association.
The Wilkes East Neighborhood Association board regularly receives land use plans from the City of Gresham to notify us of land use projects within or proximity to the Wilkes East neighborhood boundaries.
DR-24-00679 Location: Pape Properties 17217 NE Sandy Blvd. Ditch Witch Outdoor Storage and lot line adjustment. The proposal involves the additional 49,000 square feet of outside graveled storage yard to be used by Ditch Witch for outdoor storage of equipment and a separate lot to the east for future development. No new buildings are proposed at this time.
PRE-25-00061 Location: 17905 NE Glisan St. This is a pre-application for consideration of food cart pod for 18 carts, 40 x 80 indoor seating area: retaining the existing house. Narrative: “The lot contains approximately 0.63 acres and is relatively flat with an elevation of approximately 251 feet near the south line adjacent to NE Glisan Street. The owner wants to develop the site with 18 food carts and a 3200 square foot covered dining area in the center as shown on the Preliminary Site Plan included. The project also includes 9 parking spaces within a parking lot, the required utilities, including stormwater management, will be part of the project. The driveway accesses to NE Glisan Street and is 20 feet wide”.
