Event Details

A community forum is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in City Hall’s Oregon Trail Room. Draft Development Code changes regarding residential compatibility will be available on the City’s website next week. The forum will provide an opportunity to discuss the draft Code changes.

Take a step back into history at the Zimmerman House, a Victorian era farmhouse, built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful farmhouse is a perfect reflection of typical Columbia River dairy farm life in the late 1800s. The Zimmerman Heritage Farm is a unique cultural education and recreational resource that is being created for the benefit of the public on a 5.98-acre historic site in Gresham, Oregon.

Open house and tours are available the third Saturday of each month 10AM-3PM.

Join us on Feb. 22 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM in the Oregon Trail Conference Room at City Hall to discuss existing tree regulations and Code complaint issues and how those issues should be addressed in the Urban Forestry Management Plan. Your feedback will help clarify the types of issues property owners experience with the current tree Code and what future steps should be taken to address tree Code complaints.

Wilkes East Neighborhood has received a Metro Nature in Neighborhood grant for improvements in Nadaka Nature Park which requires matching volunteer hours so your support is needed and greatly appreciated. See you at the park!

Clean-up Info

Be prepared to get a little dirty and to have fun by supporting and volunteering with Friends of Nadaka and Wilkes East Neighborhood Association in their efforts to restore this natural area by removing invasive underbrush and ivy.

Rain or Shine! Come dressed for weather and help improve Nadaka Nature Park. Bring working gloves & a water bottle if you have them. Volunteer as long as you can.

Coffee, juice, water & refreshments provided by Wilkes East Neighborhood.

No pre-registration required. Volunteers younger than 18 will need a signed waiver (available at the event).

Plan to Attend

The second community forum on the Development Code Improvement Project is coming up next week. This is an opportunity to examine and comment on the work to create a Land Use Classification system and to integrate Community Service Uses into this system.

The Community Forum will be on January 18, 6:30-8:30 PM, in the Oregon Trail Room of Gresham City Hall, 1333 NW Eastman Parkway. The meeting will begin with a presentation and will follow-up with discussion groups. The materials that will be used at the forum may be found on the project webpage. Copies will be provided at the meeting.

The Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations was formed to provide structure and support for the leadership of Gresham's neighborhood associations, enabling more effective cooperation among neighborhood associations in order to achieve desired outcomes. Goals of the Coalition include providing a public forum for the review and evaluation of issues and problems, providing education and information on specific areas such as land use, and providing a unified voice for the neighborhood associations.

The Coalition meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00PM
