Safely Dispose Of Unwanted Drugs
On Saturday, April 30, the DEA and its partners will hold the second National Prescription Drug Take-Back Daynationwide. Gresham and East County residents can drop off prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Troutdale Police Department, 141 S.E. Dora St., Troutdale.
The take-back service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Common drugs and personal care products
- Cough Medicine
- Prescription Medications/Pills
- Aspirin
- Vitamins
- Lotion
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Cosmetics/Perfumes
While there is no evidence of risk to human health, these products contain compounds detected in trace amounts in aquatic systems even past the wastewater treatment plant. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average person daily will use nine personal care products containing 126 unique compounds that could end up in our water.
