Loaves & Fishes Centers "The Meals-On-Wheels People" will open a new senior nutrition site in the Rockwood neighborhood this summer and is seeking input from the community at a meeting. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gresham Salvation Army, 473 SE 194th. Lunch will be provided.
Project Partners
The Rockwood Loaves & Fishes Center will be located in the new Rockwood Community Building now under construction at 124 NE 181st in Gresham (Get Map). Community partners involved in the project include El Programa Hispano, Mt. Hood Community College Head Start, LifeWorks Northwest, Metropolitan Family Service, Wallace Medical Concern and Human Solutions.

Since 1970 Loaves & Fishes Centers has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 34 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 8,2 00 volunteers, the nonprofit, nonsectarian organization now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.25 million meals each year. The agency celebrated 40 years of service to seniors in 2010.
