Greetings, Another week down and things are really starting to come together quickly. The paving got done yesterday and the Subacute main entry is back up and running as scheduled. Guests using the front door now get to use the new sidewalk and see the new front entry that has gone in, not to mention the new driveway and parking lot! Insulation is all in and the drywall is delivered and ready for install. At the residence the B/B court base is in and the new driveway and curbs are looking gorgeous. The drywall and painters got done with the interior of the Residence, they ripped through the walls in a single day. Interior doors were delivered today and are being installed as I write. Coming up: Subacute Residence:Continue interior door and window install, flooring is being installed late next week (if we pass todays moisture test,) plus I hear the B/B hoop is on its way so I wouldn't be surprised to see it up next week. We will also be starting on landscaping too so expect to see some signs of new life starting to pop up here and there as we move through the next few weeks. The 165th sidewalk is out of commission right this minute but Andersen assures me it will get reinstalled ASAP for the neighbors continued use. The construction site and existing fencing are remaining in place until end of project. I still don't have an exact completion date as we continue to try to get done as quickly as possible and that makes it very fluid but we are beginning to discuss furniture and moving so no matter when, it will be here before we know it. Any questions, issues, concerns please just let me know. Pam Krecklow |

A message to our neighbors from Pam Krecklow, Real Estate & Construction Manager, Albertina Kerr:
Greetings,
It has been pretty much a mixed bag this week. Some good news, some bad but in spite of it all we just keep moving forward. The best news is the design application is in for the Louise Building! Plus I got a contingent of Subacute staff through for a tour of the new addition. They are so excited there were tears! Bad news is we are discussing a small delay in schedule on Residence and Subacute, possibly out 2 additional weeks to mid-August. But don't believe that just yet as the team is working hard to make that NOT happen. So we will see where we end up on it. More as we move forward.
This week wasn't real exciting, just finishing up a bunch of elements on the exteriors and still, yes, still pulling wire on the interior. Equipment has started to arrive and duct work is going in. Subacute' s main art install has been finished by Art from the Heart and is ready for pick up and their finishes are almost picked out, the paint can be a hard one. If your by my desk take a look.
Next week...
Subacute:
Gym shut down Wednesday morning for a couple of hours for NW Natural gas exploration, initial part of the equipment tie in which we all know is coming.
We made it through the last of the fire system testing, all the remaining parts of the existing system held (phew, no more floods) and the system remained pressurized for two hours for the test so we passed inspection. The only issue was the Fire Marshal didn't like the hose size we used to flush the system once we were done so we will have to flush the system one more time. A minor inconvenience on that one.
- Finishing up the flat roofing at the exterior mechanical area
- Continuing interior insulation and walls
Residence:
Looking at PGE power install here in just a bit. This install will have some effect on parking around Multnomah CI but transport will remain flowing. More to come on this as we move forward.
- Will begin to see painting on the exterior
- Have the insulation in
- Drywall install in progress
Louise:
Working on Seismic Upgrade plan
Parking plan remains the same. Likely won't have an update next week with it being short and the holiday and all but will make sure I keep everyone in the loop. If you don't hear from me before, y'all have a great holiday.
Any questions, issues, concerns please just let me know.

The safety glass is designed to withhold (5) 50lb drops of a steel ball. The State (of Oregon) was by to walk through the new Residence and everyone is very excited to see it come to fruition. The Subacute addition (right foreground) is framed-in and the interior walls are up. It's becoming quite the space. Been working with everyone on interior colors and finishes, will have them buttoned up here in the next couple of weeks. Always a good sign there is an end in sight, as getting the finishes/color in is one of the last things to do. This next week expect:
All the dramatic drama is pretty much over, at least until the end of this month when we start to finish up the site work. A heads-up to Subacute, tie in to existing equipment (plumbing, electrical, mechanical/furnace, fire system, etc.) is going to be starting in earnest in the next couple of weeks. I am sorry to say this will be a big inconvenience, as it will means guys in the hallways (mainly therapist hallway but gym hallway also) and some noise. The residence wings will remain free of physical disturbance but circulation throughout the building will be impacted. There is no reason to panic, this is just a heads up it is on the way. I don't have any specifics yet but as soon as I do we will be working through scheduling and all the other issues to make it as convenient and painless as we possibly can. If you need any incentive to get you through this next part, just go out and look at the addition. It is going to be fabulous! No changes in parking this next week and there remains parking available up and around the Louise Building. One more week down, only nine more to go! Any questions, issues, concerns, please let me know. Pam Krecklow |

We got our new fiberglass windows with the safety glass for the residence delivered today and Subacute's windows are in town pending site delivery. As soon as the framing gets complete they will be brought to site and installed. Next week we are:
Sorry to say that most of the fun/exciting parts are completed. By end of next week we will be moving inside. The project will appear to go to a snail's pace as we begin all the interior work that isn't as visible. But so far we are still on schedule and just keep moving forward. Don't worry it will get exciting again when we start finishing up the site work, get the new driveways paved, and landscaping installed. Since we got all the roof trusses this last week, we were able to open up some additional parking for Subacute guest parking. The guest parking is marked and the Gravel, Chapel, and Louise lots are still available as reflected on the parking plan. Hope everyone has a fabulous Holiday weekend and we are back it on Tuesday. Please let me know if there are any issues, questions, concerns in regards to the construction. Pam Krecklow |

Greetings,
I see the weather is not going to hold over the weekend but doesn't matter as we have roofing on the new residence. We also have a squeaky clean Louise Building with no asbestos anywhere, although there are no interior walls either. Plus the well is decommissioned. What more can a girl ask for, other than having the well trucks removed, that is? Another fruitful week that keeps us moving forward.

Next week's activities include:
- More hammering as we continue to frame interior and exterior of both buildings
- Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical rough in's
- Delivery of windows for the residence and roof trusses for Subacute
We ran into some trouble with the core drills that attempted to happen today (Friday) but didn't. So will be trying again next week with a different method. As I know more about times and days I will pass that information along.
I know Subacute had some issues with noise this last week and we have shifted the saws to attempt to keep the noise level down. The good news is we are done with work on the existing building plus we have completed the concrete sawing both were very loud and disrupting. It is my hope the noise level stays down from here on out.
We are going to need to start equipment tie in at Subacute here in the next couple of weeks. Andersen and I are trying to come up with a plan to keep everyone out of the gym but if you do hear noise in the ceiling, it is not pests, only guys tying into the existing furnace, air conditioning, fire, and plumbing systems. I have asked about equipment shut down times but am being told most systems won't need to shut down. But we all know how that goes. Stay tuned for daily announcements as we move forward.
Hoping to open up more parking now that well is decommissioned and work in that area is completed. Plus once all the trusses get on site the really big trucks should not be coming to campus any more. I do promise it will quiet down here real soon. Besides we will be officially half way done end of next week! Sounds like a party in the making to me. Anyone have any good ideas let me know.
As always if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please let me know.

Next week is another big week:
Future Attractions:
Please remember that we can park all over campus, so even if there is no parking close to your building there is parking somewhere on Campus. The parking plan is still valid. After the last of the trusses are delivered we will be able to open up some additional parking which will relieve any pressure. As always a huge thanks for being patient and understanding as all the pieces fall into place. I am exhausted after another busy week but got to walk through the new residence today and although ready to collapse, am very excited to see it all coming together. Pam Krecklow |

Greetings, Another week down Fire Marshall has also been on campus a lot this week testing fire hydrants and preparing for moving the Sub Acute's underground Fire/Water vault. Yes this means that next week will be full of inconvenience as we are needing to turn off the water to Sub Acute on Tuesday for the day. I have my fingers crossed for 4 hours but the contractor feels it will take them closer to 8 hours to get all the piping out of the existing fire/water vault, pull the existing vault, install a new reinforced vault, and reconnect everything. We have a contingency plan for 12 hours just to be safe. Be sure to be especially kind to Sub Acute staff as they are taking one for the team this next week and in their usual way are approaching it with positivity, flexibility, and tons of grace. We were not able to pour the slab for the new residence this week but will be doing it on Monday. I know it will be tempting to see all that fresh concrete and want to put your initials in it but construction crews will be watching closely plus we do have some web cams up -- can't say you weren't warned. Other elements to expect next week In the near future expect As always if you have any issues, questions, or are just curious let me know. Pam Krecklow |
