This will be a 3.5-mile loop in Mount Talbert Nature Park, which is a mixture of oak forest and upland prairie. There are lots of interesting plants and occasional views in different directions. At 750 feet, Mount Talbert is the largest volcanic lava dome in the area. There will be some hill climbing as we go to the top and around and then back down. There is poison oak along the trail, so be aware. Sturdy hiking shoes, poles, water, and a snack are suggested.
Bring your lunch, as we will have a picnic lunch at the picnic shelter at the trailhead.

The City of Canby has rehabilitated an old Weyerhaeuser road to make a nice trail down to the Willamette River. We will walk through a couple of wooded parks and along the paved trail between a golf course and the river, to an area where we'll see the remains of an old gantry and other structures used to unload logs. The trail is a pleasant out-and-back route. After the hike, we'll have lunch at the Backstop Bar and Grill in Canby. Bring an energy snack and water. Good walking shoes are recommended.
Trail conditions: Paved and dirt trail mix, about the last half-mile before we turn around is all downhill, and uphill on the return. Otherwise the trail is fairly level.

Get your broken items fixed by community volunteers for free
The City of Gresham and Coalition of Neighborhood Associations are teaming up to bring people with repair skills together to help neighbors fix their broken items.
Types of household items repaired
Broken bicycles, chains and tires
Torn clothing, missing buttons and other fabric repairs
Broken clocks, fans and small kitchen appliances
Broken VCRs, DVD or CD players, printers, calculators, Gameboys and remote controls
Please note: Televisions, microwaves and small engines are not repairable at this event.
What to expect
Try to bring anything that may be needed to repair your item; Parts, buttons, matching thread, power cords, batteries, connecting cables, remote controls, instructions manuals, etc.
We try to help everyone who brings an item. If participants bring multiple items (allowed), we can only work on one item at a time and may not be able to fix more than one item per person.
Our volunteer fixers will do their best to repair your item, but some repairs may be too complicated or require resources that aren't available at the event.
The event is free. There may be a wait depending on the number of repairs.
