This will be a 3.5-mile loop in Mount Talbert Nature Park, which is a mixture of oak forest and upland prairie. There are lots of interesting plants and occasional views in different directions. At 750 feet, Mount Talbert is the largest volcanic lava dome in the area. There will be some hill climbing as we go to the top and around and then back down. There is poison oak along the trail, so be aware. Sturdy hiking shoes, poles, water, and a snack are suggested.
Bring your lunch, as we will have a picnic lunch at the picnic shelter at the trailhead.
