Camassia Community Planning, a grad student group from Portland State University has partnered with the Rockwood Neighborhood Association to host an open discussion for Rockwood Area Neighbors from Wilkes East, Centennial, North Gresham, or Rockwood. We want to hear about what works in your neighborhood, and what could be even better!

Camassia Community Planning, with the support of Planning and Urban Design department of the City of Gresham, will develop Opportunity Maps, using an innovative method for analyzing and displaying the neighborhood conditions that affect community health and well-being. In order to ensure that the maps reflect the lived experiences of the residents of Gresham, Camassia would like to come to you to start a conversation about the opportunities you see in your area. Let's Go Walking! When: Sat Nov 30, 2013 11AM-12:30PM Where: Meet at Gresham History Museum 410 N Main Av Downtown Gresham Get Map!

Come tour Historic Downtown Gresham, and learn about its historic buildings and homes, historic graves and trees, some historic local figures, and about the shops that used to line Main Ave. Tours weave throughout Historic Downtown Gresham, are fast paced, and will cover around a mile of mostly flat level ground.

Tours leave at 11:00AM sharp, rain or shine, and are free. Donations are always accepted and much appreciated. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum.

Gresham’s beloved holiday kick-off event Tree Lighting, Music and Santa Claus When: Sat Nov 30, 2013 5PM-6:30PM Where: Arts Plaza 401 NE Second St Historic Downtown Gresham Get Map!

Gresham's kick-off to the holiday season, the Spirit of Christmas features a free program full of fun, including musical performances by the Gresham Christmas Choir, Gresham Community Choir and Men in Black, sing-alongs, hot cocoa and treats. Santa Claus will be at the event to hand out candy canes and help light the 60-foot Ponderosa pine tree. The program gets underway at 5PM, with the tree-lighting at 6PM.

Neighbors Urged to Attend When: Wed Oct 09, 2013 6:30PM Where: Albertina-Kerr Chapel 876 NE 162nd Av Gresham OR Get Map!

Albertina-Kerr is in the process of making changes and additions to their subacute care facility located in the Wilkes East neighborhood.

The changes include the addition of a new building along the east boundary of the campus facing NE 165th St, opening two driveways along NE 165th St, and the future removal of an older building along NE 162nd.

The Wilkes East Neighborhood Association has several unanswered concerns about this project including security (patients and neighbors) as well as the traffic impact to NE 165th and the surrounding areas.

Albertina-Kerr was suppose to discuss this project and answer neighbor concerns at the Wilkes East Summer General Meeting, August 26th but, they failed to show-up or cancel their appearance. Ed.

We encourage you to attend this meeting with Albertina-Kerr’s CEO Chris Krenk, Wednesday, October 9th 6:30PM at the Albertina-Kerr chapel.
