This will be a five-mile hike in the Columbia River Gorge, east of White Salmon, Wash. We should see wildflowers and beautiful views of the river and mountains. Please bring a lunch to eat along the trail. There is a new trailhead here with ample parking and restrooms. You will need hiking boots and long pants, as there are ticks and poison oak along the trail. This area is exposed to the gorge, so be prepared for both wind and sun.

This 3.5-mile walk loops around Lake Sacajawea in Longview, Wash. The paved trails wind under landscaped bridges past many species of trees and flowers in bloom. We'll walk through rhododendron gardens, past two spectacular fountains, through the Frank Willis Arboretum and past the Japanese Gardens island. Watch for nine granite markers on the solar system section of this walk, and for creative squirrel crossings. Pack water and snacks for our break, and bring a lunch. We will eat our lunch in a picnic shelter along the lake. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

This walk is a fairly gentle, 3.8-mile snowshoe hike along the road to Bennett Pass (mostly in the trees) with old logging roads off to the sides.
The group will stop in Government Camp for those who need to rent snowshoes. In addition to lunch, bring water and snacks to eat along the trail.

- Difficulty: Moderate
- Elevation gain: 267 feet
Bring a camera because if the weather is clear there will be many views of Mt. Hood. In addition, there will be a beautiful view of Mt. Hood across the valley where the group will stop to eat lunch. Often there are snow caves built by overnighters and Boy Scouts in the area.

This three-mile walk begins at the Multnomah Arts Center. We'll walk through Multnomah Village to Gabriel Park along paved gravel and natural trails that lead to the Southwest Community Center. After a short break at the center, walk the woodsy trails along a creek to a community garden before heading back to town. The group will stop for lunch at Marco’s Café before returning to cars.

February is National Children's Dental Health Month
The Multnomah Dental Society will host its annual Free Children's Health Fair, Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10AM to 2PM at Reynolds Middle School at 1200 NE 201st Av in Fairview.
Health professionals will offer dental treatments, immunizations, vision checks, hearing screenings and several other services for kids at no charge. Families can receive information on the Oregon Health Plan and other healthcare topics, nutrition, Head Start early education, fire safety and other programs.
