Honoring All Veterans When: Sun Nov 10, 2013 10AM-12PM Where: St Aidan's Episcopal Church 17405 NE Glisan Gresham OR Get Map! The 10:00AM service at St. Aidan's is honoring and blessing military veterans and their families on November 10, 2013 - Veterans Day.

All Denominations Invited
Veterans of any military branch and of whatever denomination are invited to a Holy Eucharist dedicated to the service these men and women gave to their country in times of both conflict and peace.

Share Your Mementos
Veterans are invited to bring mementos of their participation in the service (no firearms or weapons, please) to display at the fellowship hour following the service. Uniforms are encouraged.

We'll visit some of Gresham's historically significant graves and learn a little about the lives of those within them.

The tour group will meet at the Spring Water Corridor entrance into Main City Park. From there the group will walk a short distance to the Pioneer Cemeteries.

The tour is absolutely free.

Arts and crafts vendors selling handmade gifts, edible goodies, jewelry, dog dresses, goat milk soap, toys, holiday decorations, and much much more!

Pictures and sodas with Santa for the kids. Bicycle clinic (learn how to winterize your bicycle). Luncheon 10AM-2PM. Raffles of gift baskets, lap afghans, paintings, and ceramics. Reasonable prices.

Let's Go Walking! When: Sat Oct 12, 2013 11AM-12:30PM Where: Meet at Gresham History Museum 410 N Main Av Downtown Gresham Get Map!

Come tour Historic Downtown Gresham, and learn about its historic buildings and homes, historic graves and trees, some historic local figures, and about the shops that used to line Main Ave. Tours weave throughout Historic Downtown Gresham, are fast paced, and will cover around a mile of mostly flat level ground.

Tours leave at 11:00AM sharp, rain or shine, and are free. Donations are always accepted and much appreciated. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum.

Penumbral Lunar Eclipse When: Fri Oct 18, 2013 3PM-7PM PT Where: Eastern Horizon

The full moon will dip into Earth's shadow tonight October 18th, producing a lunar eclipse that can be seen by keen observers.

With tonights perfect weather, skywatchers will get the chance to observe part of the southern portion of the moon passing into Earth's penumbra — the planet's outer shadow.

The shading will be subtle, but during the penumbral lunar eclipse, the moon will be partially in shadow for about four hours with the time of deepest eclipse occurring at 7:50PM EDT (4:50PM PT). At that moment, the Earth's outer shadow will cover 76.5 percent of the lunar disk.
