Build a Rain Garden
A rain garden is landscaping that absorbs water from your roof or driveway.
Homeowners are catching on to rain gardens, a shallow depression in a yard that collects rainwater and sports a variety of flowers, shrubs and grasses.
$100 rain garden grants available
Planning to landscape this spring? By installing a rain garden into your landscape to manage stormwater from your home, you could be eligible for up to $100 from the City and East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District. Ten rain garden grants ($100 maximum per garden) are available to Gresham residents.

The Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations was formed to provide structure and support for the leadership of Gresham's neighborhood associations, enabling more effective cooperation among neighborhood associations in order to achieve desired outcomes. Goals of the Coalition include providing a public forum for the review and evaluation of issues and problems, providing education and information on specific areas such as land use, and providing a unified voice for the neighborhood associations.
The Coalition meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00PM

Earth Day at Nadaka
Join other volunteers as we clear invasive plants & beautify Nadaka Nature Park, a 10-acre natural area with a dense forest and inviting meadow.
- Metro Mobile Garden will be here w/native plants & trees to purchase for Nadaka or your own yard.
- Friends of Trees will be here to help plant 4 new large trees in Nadaka

Rain or Shine! Come dressed for weather and help improve Nadaka Nature Park. Bring working gloves & a water bottle if you have them. Volunteer as long as you can.

Please join the Gresham Redevelopment Commission Advisory Committee's Work Group and the City of Gresham as we officially declare Pluto a planet.
After the ceremony, head on over to Lazer Planet located at 340 NW Burnside, Gresham, OR. In honor of "Pluto Day" Lazer Planet is giving away one free game per person at their entertainment center for anyone who mentions "Pluto Day' from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on February 18, 2010.

The meeting will start with Coalition officer elections, then have an overview of the 2010 Council Work Plan, followed by Neighborhood News, and at 8:00 p.m. the divider will be opened to have a joint discussion about the recently adopted Sustainability Policy with the Natural Resource & Sustainability Committee (NRSC) which meets next door. Nicole Cousino (the AmeriCorps volunteer who is leading the implementation effort) will give an introduction to the Sustainability Policy, and discuss the policy as well as public involvement & outreach efforts.

Meeting Notice
Members of the Gresham Redevelopment Commission Advisory Committee are forming a work group to plan and promote community events to be held on the newly painted Plaza del Sol (formerly the Rockwood Fred Meyer site). Possible ideas are a Cinco de mayo and/or a multicultural Christmas event.
The first meeting will be held at 5:30PM on February 10, 2010 at El Comparde Loco on 189th & Burnside. If you would like to join our work group and help us plan and promote community events on Plaza del Sol plan to attend this meeting. (RSVP below).
