Let's Go Walking!
Join us on another great Ten Toe Express walk throughout inner-city Portland sponsored by the Portland Bureau of Transportation. The Ten Toe Express program is a series of guided walks held Thursdays @ 6PM and Saturdays @ 9AM from May 9th through September 21st 2013.
Each easy and informal Ten Toe Express walk explores the area neighborhood, architecture and unique history. Walk takes about 2 hours, cover 2-4 miles and are open to all ages and skill levels. Did we mention it's free!

Come tour Historic Downtown Gresham, and learn about its historic buildings and homes, historic graves and trees, some historic local figures, and about the shops that used to line Main Ave. Tours weave throughout Historic Downtown Gresham, are fast paced, and will cover around a mile of mostly flat level ground.
Tours leave at 11:00AM sharp, rain or shine, and are free. Donations are always accepted and much appreciated. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum.

| Celebrate the 30th anniversary of National Night Out by hosting an event in your neighborhood on August 6th. |
Last year millions of people, from every state, across 15,000 communities participated in events to help make communities safe and raise awareness about anticrime programs.
National Night Out is a time when individuals and groups are encourgaged to gather together after dark in parks and other public places for wholesome activities. The idea is to symbolically reclaim our public spaces by using them, encouraging other people to use them and making the space feel safe, and discouraging illegal and anti-social activity.

Join us on Main Street in Historic Downtown Gresham for the exciting (and always hilarious) annual Olympic Bed Races! The bed races are a fun event where groups from local businesses and organizations race a decorated "bed" (complete with a theme and on rollers of course) to the finish line. It's a great time that's not to be missed! Come early for the best viewing spots.
The fun starts at 7PM. See you there!

Grab a lawn chair and a blanket -- and watch the show!
The annual August Perseid meteor shower probably ranks as the all-time favorite meteor shower of the year. This major shower takes place during the lazy, hazy days of summer, when many families are on vacation. And what could be more fun than watching this summertime classic?
No matter where you live, the 2013 Perseid meteor shower will probably be at its best on the nights of August 11-12 and/or August 12-13 with little to no interference from the waxing crescent moon. Try the nights before and after that, too. Before dawn viewing is best. You'll often see 50 to 100 meteors per hour. They radiate from a point in the constellation Perseus the Hero, and are typically fast and bright meteors frequently leaving persistent trails. Each year, the Perseid's combine with the Delta Aquarid meteor shower to produce the year’s most dazzling display of shooting stars! (Tips for best viewing below.)
