Junginger, 52, was named to the department’s top position from among 28 applicants as part of a national search to replace Chief Carla Piluso, who will retire at the end of the year, ending a six-year run as police chief and a 29-year career with city’s police department.

Urban Forestry Committee seeking two new advisory members

Gresham's Urban Forestry Committee (formerly Tree Preservation Committee) is looking for additional members from the community. There are currently 5 members on the committee and they would like to add at least two more.

This seven-member citizen advisory committee is appointed by the Gresham City Council. The committee advises Council and staff about tree preservation and recommends tree species for the City's street tree list. It recommends and updates the Significant Tree List, and provides public education on those issues including publishing an approved street tree list.

Join us for a morning of clearing underbrush and lifting the canopy in Nadaka Park sponsored by SOLV. Nadaka Park is a beautiful natural area - but it has become overgrown. With your help, we can change that. This cleanup will make the park safer and more inviting.

Activities include cleanup, invasive plant removal, pruning, and weeding. Bagels, muffins, coffee, and water will be provided.

TYPE IV PUBLIC HEARING AND FIRST READING OF COUNCIL BILL 05-08 REGARDING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO VOLUME 3 OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN RELATING TO THE DEVELOPMENT CODE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.

Amendments include: provisions regarding early neighborhood notification, lot configurations, driveway lengths, height transition standards, the Medium Density Residential district, stormwater treatment and levels of review. Planning Services is the lead department.
