Difficulty: Easy
Elevation gain: Nominal
Suggested donation per rider: $5 (under 65); $2.50 (65 and older)
We will ride MAX into Portland and begin the walk down the newly refurbished Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade. With any luck, the trees will be in bloom for this early spring outing. We will walk along the Willamette and cross the river on the Hawthorne Bridge and then walk along Governor Tom McCalls Waterfront Park. We will stop for lunch in a downtown Portland restaurant, and then complete the loop, crossing the Steel Bridge back to where we will catch MAX for the trip back to Gresham.
Park your car at the City Hall MAX station and then meet in Gresham City Hall to sign in. Please purchase your all-day MAX ticket in advance so that we can all board the train shortly after 9:00 AM. As always, dress for the weather.
For more information about this hike please contact Mary Ann Buck at 971-344-1946 or buckbanter@gmail.com.
Senior Healthy Hikers asks that participants be 50 or older. A couple wishing to hike is welcome if one member of the couple is 50 or better.
