Take a free bicycling tour of groundwater wells in the city. Join the Columbia Slough Watershed Council and the Portland Water Bureau for a 16-mile bike ride through the well fields in Portland, Gresham and Fairview. These wells provide back-up drinking water to Gresham residents.

For those who live in the northern hemisphere, the summer nights are simply dazzling, filled with hundreds, indeed thousands of stars - and the best meteor shower of the year.
Join Pat Hanrahan, MHCC Planetarium Director as he takes you on a tour of the summer night sky where you'll learn about marvels that are visible to the naked eye or through ordinary binoculars and find where they reside.

These are slower paced group rides of about 8 to 10 miles around Gresham that pass by parks, schools, and other public facilities. The route is mostly on bike paths, bike lanes, and low traffic residential streets.

The Gresham Regional Center Transportation Management Association hosts free monthly Saturday Family Walks in Gresham.
Bring the Family
Family Walks start at 9AM sharp on the Gresham City Hall Plaza next to the MAX station, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water. These family walks will cover a couple of miles at a pace suitable for families.
The walks will take about 1.5 hours and return to the same starting location.

Adult Fun!
This series of free, moderately-paced adult group bicycle rides will explore the area between Gresham, Troutdale and the Sandy River as well as East Portland. Bike rides range from 15 to 25 miles. The group will travel along at around 13/15 mph and stop for coffee, bakery sweets, or ice cream somewhere along the route.

Help Set A World Record!
Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) will join aquatics centers from around the globe June 14 to set a record for the world’s largest swimming lesson.
Two hundred adults and kids (age three and older) from throughout the Portland metro area will take a free swimming lesson that day, 8AM–8:45AM at the College’s aquatic center, located on the Gresham Campus at 26000 SE Stark St.
If interested in signing up for the lesson, please call the aquatic center at 503-491-7243.
Last year’s event – the first ever – established the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson. Almost 4,000 people from 34 states, five countries and three continents participated
