With designs complete three new elementary schools and Reynolds High School are nearly ready to progress into construction. Wilkes, Troutdale and Fairview elementary schools will be replaced with new schools on the existing sites. RHS will receive significant renovations and additions. The Design Commission is the primary advising subcommittee to the City Council on design excellence for the built environment of the city. The Commission assists in the development and application of design standards and guidelines, and will conduct hearings as necessary to ensure that proposed public and private projects achieve these standards.

Basic Gardening Workshop

Learn low-cost ways to build healthy soil, plan your growing space, choose your crops, care for your growing garden, and harvest your bounty.
Seed to Supper is a free five-week beginning gardening course that gives adult gardeners the tools they need to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget.

Participants will receive a free gardening book, seeds and other goodies as available.

Were lucky to still have good populations of Turkey Vultures in Oregon. Around the world vultures are facing hazards in the wild and their numbers are dwindling. As Natures Recyclers, they play an important role in reducing diseaseand its up to us to help

A delightful 1874 Victorian farmhouse
Take a step back into history at the Zimmerman House, a Victorian era farmhouse, built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful farmhouse is a perfect reflection of typical Columbia River dairy farm life in the late 1800s. The Zimmerman Heritage Farm is a unique cultural education and recreational resource that is being created for the benefit of the public on a 5.98-acre historic site in Gresham, Oregon.

Free Hands-On Event

Join the work party and help us weed, plant flowers and create safe habitat for pollinators. The Water Resources Division is preparing a Pollinator Peace garden for spring education talks on pollinators.
The garden is the fenced area, located near the futsal court.
