Middle school and high school youth can attend free basketball practice, skill building and game play on Friday nights at H.B. Lee Middle School, 1121 NE 172nd Ave.

  • Open to boys and girls in grades 6-12
  • Learn new skills, make new friends, play basketball.
  • Adult supervision and mentorship provided by the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center (POIC).
  • Sponsored by the City of Gresham.

Schedule:

  • 6-8 p.m. for grades 6-8
  • 8-10 p.m. for grades 9-12

Join Friends of Nadaka to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park Saturday, October 29th from 9 am to 12 pm! We will be removing invasive species such as English Ivy from the 10 acre forested portion of the park. The event will start with a brief lesson on native and invasive plant species.

Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend! There are two locations for parking:

You may park in the neighborhood and follow the path through the forest to get to the picnic structure.

Get natural gardening & design tips that mimic nature, and make your garden a healthy place for children, pets and wildlife. Class covers native plants that thrive in the Pacific Northwest, and other core naturescaping concepts. Where possible, workshop includes a short tour of a nearby garden. This class is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Free! Drop-in futsal games for boys and girls in grades 3-6, from 11 am to 1 pm Sundays in the Friends of the Children gym. Rain or shine. Supervised play is provided by Active Children Portland volunteers. This activity is sponsored by the City of Gresham. A signed waiver is required to participate.
