Newsletters are a regular publication of the Wilkes East Neighborhood Association. They are hand-delivered to over 1,500 residences and businesses in our area 3 times per year, timed to correspond with our regular meetings.

The Gresham Saturday Market is a Farmer's Market that includes many crafts, artisans, fresh flowers, plants, services, and unique offerings, plus great food and live entertainment from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Howloween at the Zoo Sat, October 28, 2017 10AM-3PM 3 miles west
Kids 3 to 11 will enjoy scavenger hunts, goody bags, and activities like watching animals eat pumpkins during Howloween at the Oregon Zoo.

The Design Commission is the primary advising subcommittee to the City Council on design excellence for the built environment of the city. The Commission assists in the development and application of design standards and guidelines, and will conduct hearings as necessary to ensure that proposed public and private projects achieve these standards.

The East County Caring Community engages individuals and organizations committed to serving the needs of residents in East County. This includes community groups, faith-based organizations, educational stakeholders, economic and workforce development, health care partners, local law enforcement, human and social service providers, regional government and legislative partners, organizations working to increase access to parks and green spaces, and many others.

Round-trip travel: 100 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Elevation gain: 500 feet
Suggested donation per hiker: $10
This is a four-mile round-trip hike, with an approximately 500-foot elevation gain. Starting from the Frog Lake trailhead parking area, we will walk 1.5 miles north on Pacific Crest Trail # 2000, under a canopy of old growth and with a gentle climb to the junction with Trail # 495. From there it is 1/2 mile to Lower Twin Lake, where we will stop to have lunch. Bring a brown bag lunch to eat while enjoying this beautiful lake.
Optional: An easy walk around the lake will add another 1/4 mile to the hike for those who want to take in additional views of this beautiful lake. After lunch and the optional walk, we will all gather and trek back to our cars for the drive back to City Hall.
Caution: Participants must have water, snacks, lunch, and proper clothing for the weather of the day. Lug-sole shoes and hiking poles are recommended.
