Rockwood businesses urged to use their voice for change
All Rockwood businesses are being asked to speak out about their interests and concerns through a survey specifically targeted to doing business in Rockwood. The information from Rockwood businesses will be used to develop strategies to advocate for action on issues within the community, and to capitalize on the assets of being located within these boundaries. The Rockwood Business Coalition (RBC) is spearheading this effort.
"This is the first time anyone has aggressively sought information from ALL businesses in Rockwood on ALL issues that they may want to address. It is important that every business gives a few minutes of their time to responding if they really want policymakers and the community to understand and start working on their concerns," stated Dina DiNucci, Chair of the Rockwood Business Coalition. The Gresham Redevelopment Commission (a.k.a., Gresham City Council) has been briefed on the survey, and is interested in how the results of might bring steps to change in the community. Paul Warr-King, Council President commented, "The wide scope of the questions in this survey will provide local leaders with a real time perspective of the concerns that effect their business opportunities in the Rockwood area."
The survey can be accessed through a link available at: www.rockwoodbusinesscoalition.org or a hard copy can be requested by emailing dina@parkplacecoffee.com or calling 503.740.0578. Businesses are allowed to keep their specific responses confidential, though all answers will come together in a final report. Participants can also choose to be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to the Inn at Spanish Head in Lincoln City.
