Thanks to the community’s support and a partnership between the City of Gresham, the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District and Metro, a unique 33-acre natural area near Grant Butte in Gresham has been protected for future generations.

I hope you will be able to join us in celebrating the Grant Butte Wetlands on Sunday, September 14th. Enjoy a quick presentation about the history of the site, share your values and dreams for its future, connect with neighbors and have a piece of pie on us!

I am particularly excited about the protection and restoration of this property since it sits at the apex of both the Johnson and Fairview Creek watersheds. As such, the site will provide great opportunities for public access, conservation education and accrue significant benefits for surrounding wildlife in both Fairview and Johnson Creeks.
