Volunteers Needed for Trail Count Project
This September, Gresham will again be participating in the Regional Trail Count project and City staff is seeking Gresham residents to volunteer two to four hours of time to assist in this effort. Read more
Road Work Underway on SE Powell Valley Road
Thank you for your patience while SE Powell Valley Road, from NE Burnside to SE Kane Drive, is closed through Aug. 23 for reconstruction and paving. The improved road with new bike lanes will be a smoother stretch for travelers. Read more
Musicalu is Summer Fun for Children
Kids, bring your adults to Musicalu on the Arts Plaza to hear The Toy Trains at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. Then end summer on a high note with Mo Phillips & Special Guests on Saturday, Sept. 21. Musicalu is a free, family-friendly concert series. Read more
Help Mark Stormdrains
The Watershed Division is seeking volunteers to help mark stormdrains in your neighborhood or commercial areas in town. These markers remind people not to dump household waste, mop water, oil etc. down stormdrains because they go directly to local streams. Read more
Are You Ready? Take the 'Be Ready Challenge'
If a disaster struck, would your family be ready? September is National Preparedness Month and Emergency Management is holding a friendly social media "Be Ready Challenge" on Facebook and Twitter to help you get prepared. Each day we'll post one preparedness task. Read more
Get Inspired by Greg's Story
Think bike commuting is not for you? Gresham's Greg Hartung hadn’t considered it until a visit to the doctor prompted him to launch “Project Greg” to improve his health and lifestyle. September's Bike Commute Challenge is a chance to start pedaling. Read more
City Hosts CPR Training
Would you like to learn CPR? The City is offering CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator) training from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 14. Seats are limited. Read more
Healthy Kids' Fair Sept. 7
Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center's 28th Annual Healthy Kids’ Fair promotes children’s health and safety. This free event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, offers hands-on activities including crafts, field games, sports demos, healthy living and public safety vehicle tours. Read more
Volunteer Mentors Needed at Local Schools
AARP Experience Corps has openings for adults age 55+ to serve as mentors at Hall and Davis elementary schools this fall. Mentors work one on one and in small groups to help K-3rd graders with their reading. Stipends are available for these 15-hour per week positions. Read more
