This is a four-mile out-and-back hike that follows the old Historic Oregon Water Power Railway Co. rail line from Boring to Barton. The trail is a continuation of the Springwater Trail from Gresham. Like the Springwater Trail before it was paved, it is an old railroad gravel bed. The trail goes along the North Fork of Deep Creek. After 2.25 miles, we will turn around and hike back up the trail to Boring. After the hike we will stop at the Red Apple restaurant in Boring for lunch.
Bring a snack and water for the trail. Hiking boots and warm rain gear are recommended.
