Student safety is our number one concern. The counselor and teachers are on hand to help students deal with the emotions of fear and anxiety that may accompany such incidents.
Please join us in the effort to keep students safe by talking with your student about safety:
- Students should not walk to or from school alone. Arrange for them to walk with a friend or adult
- If approached by a stranger, the student should run away.
- If a stranger touches or attempts to grab a student, the student should yell or scream.
- If someone makes them uncomfortable or afraid, immediately tell an adult or the police.
Sometimes parents delay talking about safety issues, because they do not know what to say. If you need help, please contact our counseling department at (503) 255-5686. There are free resources in the community to assist you.
