Crime Reports
Residents can now access current property crime data on the City's website. The crime information is mapped so residents can get a visual perspective of actual crime reports submitted. This data is updated monthly and also includes crime prevention tips and trends. Read more

National Test of the Emergency Alert System
On November 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will conduct the first nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) test. This test will interrupt all regular TV/Radio programming and will last approximately three minutes. Read more

Downtown Plan Review Seeking Public Input
Residents can help shape Downtown Code updates that are part of the Downtown Plan Review project, which is intended to remove obstacles to development while achieving the vision for Downtown. Code issues include standards regarding the minimum amount of development required on a site, minimum parking for developments and street/sidewalk designs. Come to the Nov. 10 forum to discuss the preferred approach to addressing the Code issues. Read more

GreshamOregon.gov Gets Personal
Join our new online community ̶ My Gresham ̶ at GreshamOregon.gov. My Gresham provides a customized experience, with multiple ways to receive information and updates from the City. With a My Gresham account, you’ll have access to our 24-hour Ask Gresham customer service portal, web alerts, service requests, electronic newsletter subscriptions and more. Read more

Take Our Roll Cart Survey
The City is considering changing residential garbage and yard debris containers to uniform roll carts to allow for automated collection of this waste. We would like to receive feedback from Gresham residents on your current garbage and recycling collection, and the proposed change to roll carts citywide. Read more

Check Out the Draft Annual Stormwater Report
Did you know City crews removed almost 3,000 cubic yards of dirt and debris from streets and drains last year? That’s enough to fill 1,500 full-size truck beds. Each year, the City compiles a report describing all of the actions and programs we deliver in order to prevent or remove pollutants from stormwater. Read more

Thinking Ahead: Keep Those Drains Clear
Cooking a turkey or ham with gravy this holiday season? Keeping cooking greases out of the kitchen sink can prevent clogged sewer pipes. When fats, oils and grease are poured down the drain, they stick to the inside of pipes causing messy sewer backups and expensive cleanup and repair in your home. Wastewater Services offers tips for smart cooking and free kits to scrape and freeze the grease. Read more

Weed Watcher Workshop: November 15
Want to make a difference in your community and the environment? Become a weed watcher. The City is offering a series of free invasive plant ID classes so you can help us fight these weedy invaders. All you have to do is come to one (or all) of our free evening classes and use your new ID skills to alert the city to any weeds you see. With your help, we can help keep our city and homes beautiful and weed free. Read more

Prepare Your Yard for Winter—Free Healthy Home
and Garden Consultation

During the consultation, you’ll receive information about invasive plant control, natural gardening techniques, stormwater management tips and more. We provide free, fun things to help you get started including landscaping plants, compost bins, garden store coupons and bird houses. Read more

Water, Energy, and Money: Save Resources at Home
Learn about opportunities to save water, energy and money at home. Gresham water customers can call to schedule a Water Assessment and Home Energy Review. After a review, homeowners can apply for up to two $50 cash rebates for installing WaterSense certified high efficiency toilets. Read more

Gresham Hosts PGE Energy Seminar
Do you work for a business, own a business or know of a business that could benefit from more energy efficiency? Don’t miss the Nov. 15 workshop “Fundamentals of Energy & Managing Costs” to learn more about energy-using equipment. This half-day PGE seminar at Gresham City Hall provides an overview of energy efficiency, and is free for PGE commercial and industrial customers. Read more
