Local newspaper holds
Open House, celebrates 100 years as the source for
East County news

By Paul Glenn, Capri Terrace resident

Our local community newspaper held an Open House on March 11, 2011 celebrating 100 years as a twice weekly publication; reporting news and events which effect and are of interest to the folks who live in our town.

I visited the Outlook Open House. Our group was guided by the Blake Jensen, Production Manager, who gave us a wonderful tour and history lesson.

Some of the vintage equipment is still there and is occasionally used.

The staff writers were there including one of my favorites, Sharon Nesbitt who is about to retire. The paper has had several owners through the last 100 years. The paper is currently under the ownership of the Pamplin family.

We look forward to many more years of community service.
