Neighborhood Wildlife Watchers October Training
We’re looking for Neighborhood Wildlife Watchers to monitor habitat structures in your neighborhood or around the community. Volunteers may find flying squirrels, wood ducks, songbirds, swallows, and bats. Opportunities exist for individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels.
Two October trainings with City staff will teach monitoring techniques and match volunteers with sites convenient for you:
- Saturday, Octover 16 10AM-12PM
- Thursday, October 21 6PM-8PM

Fun for all ages
This program encourages community involvement and invites volunteers of all ages and skill levels to spend a one to two hours each week monitoring wildlife in a natural area in their neighborhood. Neighbors can conduct monitoring session in groups and may benefit from the appreciation for the larger community of the natural world that this experience offers. Volunteers often witness the entire lifecycle of a bird, from nest-building, to egg-laying, to fledgling.
