Celebrate Our Opening
To celebrate we are inviting our friends, neighbors and partners to an event in the Leach Botanical Garden Manor house, 5:30 to 8:00pm Tuesday September 21st. Please join us, Portland City Commissioner Nick Fish, Metro Councilor Robert Liberty, and other public officials for an evening of light food and drinks, socializing, and news and plans for future Portland Audubon's programs, trips and events in East Metro. About Leach Botanical Garden

Leach Botanical Garden is located in a woodland hollow carved by Johnson Creek in southeast Portland. This botanical garden specializes in preserving the original Leach collection as well as introducing Northwest native plants through educational programs, conservation, and community involvement. |
The collection of more than 2,000 special hybrids, cultivars (including NW natives and the Leach original collection) can be enjoyed on a self-guided tour that winds around the Manor House and along Johnson Creek.
About Portland Audubon
The Audubon Society of Portland is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to wildlife conservancy in Portland, Oregon, USA. Founded in 1902 and incorporated in 1909, it is one of the oldest such organizations in the world, and named in honor of John James Audubon, an ornithologist and naturalist. Nestled against Forest Park, five minutes from downtown Portland, is a 150-acre, free-to-the-public Nature Sanctuary. |

The wildlife sanctuary is a showcase for native flora and fauna, and has over four miles of forested hiking trails for you to enjoy year 'round. Trails are open dawn to dusk every day. Please, no pets. The care center treats injured and orphaned native wildlife utilizing professional staff and more than one hundred volunteers. More than 3,500 animals are brought to the center each year.
