Let's Go Walking!When: Tue Aug 26, 2014 10AM-5PM |
This in a 3.5-mile walk with a car shuttle. We will begin at the Camas Heritage Park Trailhead along Lacamas Creek and the western shore of Lacamas Lake. After leaving a paved trail, we will enter a gravel path under a canopy of old growth forest. This leads to a cedar-lined shore trail with abundant Indian-plum, holly and elderberry. We’ll pause at an observation deck to view wildlife and mansions on the opposite shore. Then we’ll cross two wide bridges, the first across a marshland into an oak woodland. The second bridge is near Lacamas Creek and fancy-fenced ponds under power lines. Bring water and snacks for our break and wear sturdy walking shoes. We’ll shuttle drivers back to Camas Heritage Park to bring all passengers to Lakeside Chalet for lunch.
