This walk totals three miles on two different trails in Happy Valley. The walk begins with a loop hike on the Mt Scott Nature Trail at the newly dedicated Studebaker trailhead, which starts with a steep downhill trek into the forest. Hiking boots and poles are recommended for the Mt. Scott Nature Trail portion of this hike.

The group will then drive to Happy Valley Park for the second portion of the hike on walking trails through the park’s wetland areas.

  • Round-trip travel: 28 miles
  • Suggested donation per rider: $3
  • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
  • Elevation gain: 250 feet

Dress appropriately for the weather and bring water and a snack to eat along the way.

After the hike, the group will stop for lunch at Applebee’s restaurant.

Senior Healthy Hikers Member Guidelines

Senior Healthy Hikers asks that participants be 50 or older. A couple wishing to hike is welcome if one member of the couple is 50 or better. Pets are not permitted.
