Help Guide Gresham's Future Housing Needs
The City invites you to give input on a new Council Work Plan project studying Gresham’s changing housing needs and the City’s plans for promoting high-quality housing and design. A Housing Policy Community Forum starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at City Hall. Read more
Volunteer Watching Birds for Survey
Join us while we watch the birds. Gresham continues its commitment to integrating citizens and science through the City's annual bird survey. In 2012, volunteers found 82 different bird species. An orientation class is 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Read more
Backyard Burning Season Starts
Backyard burning season in Gresham begins Saturday, April 20. Learn more about what you can and can't burn in your backyard, including information on yard debris, fire pits and barbecues. Read more
Recycle (Don't Toss) at Earth Day Event
Our free Earth Day Recycling Collection Event is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at City Hall. We're accepting rigid plastics, block Styrofoam, batteries, paper for shredding, fluorescent tubes and lights and cell phones. Read more
Free Compost, Bring Your Buckets
Nutrient-rich compost, made from veggies and other food waste collected through Gresham’s food scrap compost program, is available for free at the City’s recycling event Saturday, April 20. Bring a bucket for 5 gallons of finished compost. Limited quantities; one bucket per car. Read more
Attend City's Graffiti Removal Summit
Gresham’s second annual Graffiti Removal Summit for residents and businesses will teach the basics of graffiti starting with its presence and what it means, to how to prevent it, and most importantly, how to get rid of it. The summit is from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27. Read more
Connect With Your City Councilors
Join City Councilors Lori Stegmann, Mario Palmero and Josh Fuhrer at a Council Community Forum from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. Connect with Councilors in an informal setting and learn about public safety, urban renewal and other City services. Read more
Bike Fun in May
Gresham is celebrating National Bike Month in May with a number of fun activities for residents including a bike maintenance workshop, bike rides, bike helmet sale, bike to work challenge, treats on trails and a community bike counting project. Read more
Rain Garden Workshop, $200 Incentive
The East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District offers a free Rain Garden Workshop from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at City Hall. Join staff for snacks and learn how to build a rain garden. Eligible Gresham residents may receive a $200 cash incentive. Read more
