Celebrate The Spirit of Christmas: Dec 1
Gresham’s beloved holiday kick-off event is on Saturday, Dec. 1. The Spirit of Christmas features a program full of music and fun including performances by East County’s Got Talent winner Bo Baskoro, The Dickens’ Carolers and the Gresham Christmas Choir.
Santa Claus will hand out candy canes and help light the tree, a 60-foot Ponderosa pine on the Arts Plaza. The free event starts at 5 p.m. and the tree will be lit promptly at 6 p.m. Read more

Cooking a turkey with gravy this holiday season? Keeping cooking greases out of the kitchen sink can prevent clogged sewer pipes. Wastewater Services offers tips for smart cooking and free kits to scrape and freeze the grease. Read more
Personal Safety Awareness Class: Dec 3 (RSVP Nov 30)
Gresham Police will hold a free class for the public on personal safety awareness from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. Learn how to spot pre-attack indicators and other safety measures. RSVP by Friday, Nov. 30. Read more

Now that it’s getting dark earlier, making yourself visible to drivers when walking or biking is critical for one’s safety. Transportation staff offer some tips for being safe and seen when out and about on streets or waiting for public transportation. Read more
