The City offers a free, drop-in soccer program for youth on Fridays from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Eastside Timbers and Thorns Soccer Complex.

Details

  • Open to all individuals in grades 6-12 and participants over the age of 18
  • Meet new friends, play soccer and showcase your skills
  • Participants must bring a signed waiver to play
  • Games are played in turf fields
  • Must have appropriate shoes to play
  • No metal cleats allowed
  • Adult supervision provided by City of Gresham

The forest at Nadaka Nature Park is once again alive with activity as our diverse population of birds are busy nesting, singing, and enjoying the spring air! This May, join Friends of Nadaka and the Audubon Society of Portland as we lead a Spring Bird Walk through Nadaka’s beautiful forest and meadow. We will identify birds and bird calls, talk about species characteristics, and enjoy the richness of our urban bird population!

A limited number of binoculars will be provided. New and experienced birders are all welcome!

Meet at the Nadaka Nature Park picnic shelter at 9:45am to sign in and enjoy coffee and light refreshments before we start our walk at 10am.

If these situations arent resolved they can grow into really troublesome problems. This free training will teach conflict resolution skills through communication. Get your broken items fixed by community volunteers for free

The City of Gresham and Coalition of Neighborhood Associations are teaming up to bring people with repair skills together to help neighbors fix their broken items.

Types of household items repaired

  • Broken bicycles, chains and tires
  • Torn clothing, missing buttons and other fabric repairs
  • Broken clocks, fans and small kitchen appliances
  • Broken VCRs, DVD or CD players, printers, calculators, Gameboys and remote controls

Please note: Televisions, microwaves and small engines are not repairable at this event.

What to expect
  • Try to bring anything that may be needed to repair your item; Parts, buttons, matching thread, power cords, batteries, connecting cables, remote controls, instructions manuals, etc.
  • We try to help everyone who brings an item. If participants bring multiple items (allowed), we can only work on one item at a time and may not be able to fix more than one item per person.
  • Our volunteer fixers will do their best to repair your item, but some repairs may be too complicated or require resources that aren't available at the event.
  • The event is free. There may be a wait depending on the number of repairs.

Seed to Supper is a free, six-week beginning gardening course that gives adult gardeners the tools they need to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget. Participants will be given a free gardening book, seeds, plant starts, trowels, a certificate of completion and more.

This course is open to adults living on a low income ($1,945 per month or less).

Registration is required

Please plan to attend all six classes.

This course is hosted in partnership between Friends of Nadaka, Oregon Food Bank and St. Aidan's Episcopal Church.
