Volunteers needed. Apply here!
Start saving those items that cannot be recycled at the curb for the Earth Day Collection Event. The City's annual recycling event is free to Gresham and Wood Village residents.

Check the Waste Wizard to look up those hard-to-recycle items that will not be collected.

Collection Item Details

No computer related or televisions will be accepted

  • TVs, computers and monitors can be recycled for free year-round at several recycling sites in Gresham; see Oregon E-Cycles for information.
  • Total Reclaim accepts TV's, computers and other electronic items for recycling; go to Total Reclaim for information.
  • No Hazardous Waste

    • Metro has two household hazardous waste facilities open for drop-off. See Metro's website for more information.
    • Metro also holds household hazardous collection events; visit Metro's website for more information.
    • Volunteer for Earth Day
      Volunteer to direct traffic, unload materials from automobiles, sort materials or hand out information.
      Choose a shift: 8AM-11:45AM, 11:30AM-3PM, or volunteer all day!
      The annual Earth Day recycling event is the largest collection event hosted by the City and is a free service to Gresham and Wood Village residents and businesses. Breakfast or lunch is provided!

Friends of Nadaka have received grants for the development of the Nadaka Nature Park which requires matching volunteer hours so your support is needed and greatly appreciated. See you at the park!

Event info
Come out and meet your neighbors and make new friends. Join SOLV® and Friends of Nadaka to help improve the park this Earth Day. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Mulching Trails, Trash Removal and possibly work in Community Garden. Be prepared to get a little dirty and to have fun by supporting and volunteering with Friends of Nadaka and Wilkes East Neighborhood Association. Refreshments will be provided for volunteers.

Rain or Shine!
Come dressed for weather and help improve Nadaka Nature Park. Bring working gloves & a water bottle if you have them. Volunteer as long as you can. Drinks and snacks will be provided for volunteers.

A delightful 1874 Victorian farmhouse
Take a step back into history at the Zimmerman House, a Victorian era farmhouse, built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful farmhouse is a perfect reflection of typical Columbia River dairy farm life in the late 1800s. The Zimmerman Heritage Farm is a unique cultural education and recreational resource that is being created for the benefit of the public on a 5.98-acre historic site in Gresham, Oregon.
