You are cordially invited to attend a meeting on May 25th, 2011, at Allied Health Services East.
This meeting is being held to discuss a proposed project located at 16141 E. Burnside (corner of E. Burnside Street & 162nd). The proposal is to continue the existing outpatient drug treatment program which has been at this site for the past nine years.
Neighbors and concerned citizen are urged to attend this meeting.

A delightful 1874 Victorian farmhouse
Take a step back into history at the Zimmerman House, a Victorian era farmhouse, built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful farmhouse is a perfect reflection of typical Columbia River dairy farm life in the late 1800s. The Zimmerman Heritage Farm is a unique cultural education and recreational resource that is being created for the benefit of the public on a 5.98-acre historic site in Gresham, Oregon.
Open house and tours are available the third Saturday of each month 10AM-3PM.

Greet the Morning
Join Jim Labbe with the Audubon Society of Portland and Lee Dayfield with Wilkes East Neighborhood Association for a morning stroll through Nakada Nature Park in West Gresham on Friday, May 27th at 7:30AM.
We’ll explore the natural and human history of this unique neighborhood nature park and learn about efforts afoot to expand the park, improve access and environmental interpretation, and enhance its wildlife habitat. We’ll also begin the documenting of bird species inhabiting the park and discuss the value of urban natural areas to avian biodiversity.

We will be holding the Rockwood Business Coalition meeting this month at Park Place Coffee, located at 1288 SE 182nd (Get Map!). Although parking is limited, parking has been approved at the slavic Home of God church next door and there is street parking!

Wilkes East Neighborhood has received a Metro Nature in Neighborhood grant for improvements in Nadaka Nature Park which requires matching volunteer hours so your support is needed and greatly appreciated. From I-84: Take the 181st exit, travel south, turn right on NE Pacific St.
From Glisan (eastbound): Turn left on NE 172nd Av, turn right on NE Pacific St.
Join other volunteers as we clear invasive plants & beautify Nadaka Nature Park, a 10-acre natural area with a dense forest and inviting meadow.
Be prepared to get a little dirty and have fun by supporting and volunteering with SOLV, Friends of Nadaka and the Wilkes East Neighborhood Association in their efforts to restore this natural area.
Rain or Shine! Come dressed for weather. Bring working gloves & a water bottle if you have them. Volunteer as long as you can.
Coffee, juice, water & refreshments provided by Wilkes East Neighborhood.
