This 3.5-mile walk begins on a bark dust trail near the Happy Valley Library. It connects to a natural trail that goes through woods near Sieben Creek and then into older neighborhoods. From there we will enter the Taralon Community to explore a network of gravel and paved paths, cross wooden bridges, and pass wetlands on this 97-acre development. Then we will head uphill to the Happy Valley Sculpture Garden at City Hall, before returning downhill to the library.

  • Round-trip travel: 19 miles
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Elevation gain: Minimal
  • Suggested donation per hiker: $2

For lunch we will walk uphill from the library for a few blocks to Happy Valley Station, an enclosed eating area surrounded by 19 food carts. You may purchase your lunch from a food cart or bring one from home to eat in the enclosed pavilion. Good walking shoes or hiking boots are recommended, as the natural trails can be muddy.

For more information about this hike please contact Ruth Cummings at 503-926-4840 or cummings0465@frontier.com.

Senior Healthy Hikers asks that participants be 50 or older. A couple wishing to hike is welcome if one member of the couple is 50 or better.
