About Microseal
Micro-seal is performed on streets that have minimal surface irregularities. This technique seals the surface of the street to prevent water infiltration into the road base. The process also increases skid resistance of the street surface. Performing timely preventative maintenance saves tax dollars by increasing pavement life versus complete reconstruction.
The micro-seal process involves placing down a quarter inch thick layer of polymer modified asphalt to the street surface. The new seal coat typically cures within two hours, which minimizes disruption to citizen’s daily activities. The life expectancy of micro seal is five to seven years.
