Make a Difference Day

Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 is the 18th annual Make A Difference Day - the largest national day of helping others. Recognizing the need to make a difference in Rockwood, the City of Gresham and the Gresham Redevelopment Commission, in partnership with Friends of Trees and AmeriCorps, will use the opportunity of Make A Difference Day to plant 15 trees along East Burnside St in Rockwood from SE 181st Ave to SE 185th Ave.

Mayor and Police Chief 'Kick-off' activities

Mayor Shane Bemis and Police Chief Carla Piluso will kick off the event with some welcoming remarks at 9:00AM at the Rockwood Community Office, 18709 SE Stark St.

Future Tree Plantings in West Gresham Neighborhoods

Area residents are invited to come to the Rockwood Community Office between 9:00AM and 12:00PM on Make A Difference Day to learn about the Friends of Trees organization and how trees benefits neighborhoods. Make A Difference Day will serve as the kick off to future street tree plantings the City will organize with Friends of Trees, one of which is planned for March 21 in the Centennial East, North Gresham, Rockwood, and Wilkes East neighborhoods.
