See the tree lights twinkle
Gresham’s 60-foot tree is dressed in lights on the Arts Plaza and we invite you to see the tree through Jan. 1. The annual Spirit of Christmas tree lighting celebrated 23 years with well wishes from friends and neighbors. Watch a clip.  Top

Tree tips for a green holiday
To really get green this holiday, consider a living tree. Donate your potted tree to the City after the holidays, and we'll plant it in one of Gresham's many natural areas. Tree already up? Read our tips for recycling it with your yard debris collection. Learn more.  Top

Win a present worth $320
Are ribbons and bows recyclable? Foil wrapping paper? Nope. Learn what is acceptable with GoCart!, the City's garbage and recycling reminder tool. Sign up by Dec. 31 to be eligible to win a year of free garbage service, a $320 value. Sign up now (it's free).  Top

Special delivery: Fire Corps courier
Join the crew. We’re looking for a volunteer to courier mail between City Hall and our seven fire stations. Time commitment is two hours a week on Wednesdays. A City vehicle is provided for deliveries. Application process includes background/DMV check. Fill out a volunteer application.  Top

Make a resolution to get dialed in
When we've got a major emergency in Gresham, we reach residents through PublicAlerts, the notification system that sends texts, emails or phone calls in case of a public safety or public health crisis or significant service disruption. Be prepared. Sign up for PublicAlerts.  Top

Become a mediator and help others
Are you interested in becoming a mediator and volunteering with East Metro Mediation? Or need continuing legal education? Register for basic mediation training on evenings and Saturdays in February. Applications due Jan. 16; scholarships offered. Learn more.  Top

Water pipes get a winter flush
The City’s annual water system flushing program resumes on Jan. 12, 2015, and will service 88 miles of pipe and 726 fire hydrants in and around the Grant Butte area, including Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center, Mt. Hood Community College and historic downtown businesses. Special night flushing schedules are planned for some areas to minimize impact to the community. Learn more.  Top
