This walk is a fairly gentle, 3.8-mile snowshoe hike along the road to Bennett Pass (mostly in the trees) with old logging roads off to the sides.

The group will stop in Government Camp for those who need to rent snowshoes. In addition to lunch, bring water and snacks to eat along the trail.

  • Round-trip travel: 100 miles
  • Suggested donation per rider: $10
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Elevation gain: 267 feet

Bring a camera because if the weather is clear there will be many views of Mt. Hood. In addition, there will be a beautiful view of Mt. Hood across the valley where the group will stop to eat lunch. Often there are snow caves built by overnighters and Boy Scouts in the area.

Drivers are needed who are equipped with chains or snow tires and are willing to drive in the snow.
