The park opens at 8:00AM and musical entertainment begins at 3:30PM, with refreshments provided by non-profit community groups. Opening Ceremony starts at 5:45PM , and Fireworks fill the sky starting at 10PM.

Admission is $10 per vehicle, $15 per 12-passenger and larger van, and $20 per bus or RV.

The City Council unanimously approved amending the Development Code regarding issues from the 2009 Development Code Improvement Project and the 2009 Corridor Districts Review project at its hearing on June 15, 2010. The enactment reading will occur on July 6, 2010, with an effective date of August 5, 2010. The approved language may be found here under “June 15 Public Hearing.”

The Gresham Redevelopment Commission (GRDC) will hold a workshop with the GRDC Advisory Committee on Thursday, July 7, 2010 at 6:00PM in the Conference Center, Gresham Civic Center, City Hall Building, 1333 NW Eastman Parkway, Gresham, Oregon. The focus of the workshop will be on industrial development in the Rockwood-West Gresham Urban Renewal Area.

The meeting will start with Coalition officer elections, then have an overview of the 2010 Council Work Plan, followed by Neighborhood News, and at 8:00 p.m. the divider will be opened to have a joint discussion about the recently adopted Sustainability Policy with the Natural Resource & Sustainability Committee (NRSC) which meets next door. Nicole Cousino (the AmeriCorps volunteer who is leading the implementation effort) will give an introduction to the Sustainability Policy, and discuss the policy as well as public involvement & outreach efforts.

The Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations was formed to provide structure and support for the leadership of Gresham's neighborhood associations, enabling more effective cooperation among neighborhood associations in order to achieve desired outcomes. Goals of the Coalition include providing a public forum for the review and evaluation of issues and problems, providing education and information on specific areas such as land use, and providing a unified voice for the neighborhood associations.

The gates open at 11AM on Saturday and 10:00AM on Sunday. EPO XPO is co-sponsored by all 13 East Portland Neighborhoods. The event will feature numerous exhibitors, lots of entertainment and food, free health testing, and free activities for children and families.

This year, EPO XPO will be partnering with the City of Portland for the very first Sunday Parkways in East Portland — and EPO XPO will be at the heart of it all! Be sure to stay for the movie that evening (and Sunday too!) starting at dusk. Then, on Sunday, come join the festivities for the single best day of the Summer — East Portland style!

Project Receives Award
The City has been awarded the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association’s (OAPA) Professional Achievement in Planning Award for the Residential Districts Review project.
This award recognizes a planning project of exceptional merit. The Residential Districts Review was a Council Work Plan project that established two new land use districts, promoted residential lot size compatibility and ensured residential density was located in appropriate locations. The project also created an innovative housing demonstration project code.
