About the meeting
The Charter Review Committee will present its final report of findings and recommendations to the City Council, February 7, 2012 at 6:00PM. Council will discuss which recommendations will be referred to the voters. Proposed Charter changes approved by City Council, if any, will be placed on the May 2012 ballot. Background
The City Charter was adopted on May 2, 1978. The City Charter may only be amended, repealed, or replaced if at least 60% of those voting pass a ballot measure to approve the changes. The current City Charter has been revised nine times since it was adopted in 1978.
