Are You Ready? Workshop - June 18
Find out everything you ever wanted to know about basic disaster preparedness. Register to attend a morning or afternoon session. Workshop agenda includes: 72 hour kit contents, creating a family plan, when to stay-when to go, managing utilities, and knowing your neighborhood.

Crime Reports
Residents can now access current property crime data on the City’s web site. The crime information is mapped so residents can get a visual perspective of actual crime reports submitted. This data is updated monthly and also includes crime prevention tips and trends. Read more

Music Mondays Return to the Center for the Arts Plaza
The Center for the Arts Plaza, 401 NE 2nd Street, will be alive with the sound of music this summer on Mondays with noon performances June 6 – August 29 and evening performances at 6:30 p.m. July 11 – August 29. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, pick up some nourishing treats from a local merchant. Read more

Trees in the Summer = Lower Energy Costs
Did you know that by planting trees on your property you can lower your energy costs and that the City offers a free tree to citizens through our Healthy Streams Program? Learn more about trees in Gresham by visiting our Sustainability website. Read more

Multnomah County RSVP
RSVP volunteers in Multnomah County provide a wide range of health and human services, including providing transportation and Friendly Visiting services to older adults, providing nutritious meals to low income families and older adults; encouraging hospital patients and family members and welcoming visitors to the Portland area. Cellphones for Soldiers
Gresham Ford and the Gresham Red Robin are partnering on an important community service project, Cell Phones for Soldiers. The goal is to help our soldiers serving overseas call home by providing prepaid phone cards. Bring your old cell phones to Gresham Ford or Gresham Red Robin and receive a coupon for your trouble. Project Linkage
Project Linkage helps older adults and people with disabilities remain independent and in their own homes longer. We offer transportation, friendly visiting, shopping assistance and home repair services free of charge. Summer Programs Available Through SUN
The SUN School Program will be operating at Gordon Russell Middle School beginning on July 11 and running through August 4, Mondays through Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is just $5 per week. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a fun, safe, and inexpensive summer camp. Gordon Russell will also be a site for local youth under 18 to receive free breakfast and lunch. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 9:30 a.m., while lunch will be offered from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Do Your Surroundings Promote Healthy Eating and Active Living?
The next community forum, Energizing Our Spaces, will take place at 5:30 p.m. on June 28 at the Rockwood Library in Gresham. This is your opportunity to share what’s working where you live, and where the gaps are that prevent you from easily walking, biking, and accessing healthy food choices. Your input will help provide direction for Gresham’s future development. Read more

Hollybrook Park Summer Festival July 22
A community festival featuring live music, food, Mudeye Puppet Company, macroinvertebrate petting zoo, book exchange, cookie exchange, Gresham Fire Department and more! Learn about free City programs, tour local gardens, try the scavenger hunt and free raffle. Read more

Dcip-5: Institutional Master Plans
Residents are invited to a community forum to discuss how the City allows institutional uses (such as schools and hospitals) to seek approval of long-term master plans. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, in City Hall’s Oregon Trail Conference Room. The City is working to improve and update the Code. Springwater Trail Spur Project
The Springwater Trail Spur project is a Capital Improvement Project that is currently underway to complete a significant 1,000-foot long trail connection between the existing Springwater Trail and Downtown Gresham through the center of Main City Park. Summertime is when East Metro Mediation gets calls about vegetation growing over from the neighbor’s yard. We’ve put together a list of “Tips for Talking Through Troubles,” which have been proven to be successful to improve a noise problem, a tree concern, and an interpersonal dispute. Read more

We have all heard a penny saved is a penny earned – those pennies can make a difference in our personal finances. “Try Local First” is a lot like that; small changes in how we shop can make big differences in the economic health of our communities. Low Cost Summer Activities Through the PAL Youth Center
The PAL Youth Center, located at 424 NE 172nd, is offering low cost summer activities for the youth in our community. These themed weekly “Adventure Camp” activities for youth ages 8-12 include art, computers, bowling, basketball and much more. Something for everyone! The PAL Center will also begin “Mid-Night” (6:30-10:30 pm) basketball July 14th , Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Dinner is provided. Rockwood Standard Community Forum
Property owners, stakeholders and interested parties are invited to attend our third community forum to implement the vision for Rockwood by establishing an urban design framework and creating regulations to ensure buildings, streetscapes and pedestrian environments match that vision for a quality place.This forum, July 7th, will review and discuss the draft Design Guidelines and Standards Code will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Gresham City Hall room 2A/2B. Block Party Time
It’s that time of year, block parties and outdoor gatherings. Be sure to check with the City of Gresham in case you need a street closure permit for your upcoming event. You must provide at least two weeks’ notice in order to approve your permit. Read more
