The City's Charter Review Committee wants to hear from you.Every eight years this committee reviews the City charter, in essence, its "constitution" which establishes the framework for how your city government operates.

The City charter was adopted on May 2, 1978. The City charter may only be amended, repealed or replaced if at least 60% of those voting pass a ballot measure to approve the changes.
The City charter has been revised nine times since its adoption in 1978.
Charter Review Committee
Pursuant to Section 45B of the charter, Gresham City Council will appoint a charter review committee to review the current language of the City's charter.
A charter review committee was appointed by Council on Dec. 17, 2019.
The committee will hold a public hearing on Monday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Conference Center. Your participation in this meeting will provide guidance for the committee as they begin the review process.
