This approximately six-mile out-and-back hike features wildflowers, wild rhododendron, and an abundance of Bear Grass, which hopefully will be blooming in July.  Even if the Bear Grass isn't in bloom or particularly abundant, this beautiful wilderness hiking trail will take us through lush forest and along a ridge to a ridge-top meadow with a spectacular view of Mt. Hood in clear weather.

  • Round-trip travel: 60 miles
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Elevation gain: 800 feet
  • Suggested donation per hiker: $7

Be aware that once we leave City Hall, the next opportunity for restroom facilities will be after the hike when we arrive back at Sandy.
Hiking boots and trekking poles are recommended.  Bring water, energy snacks, and a sack lunch to eat at the meadow.
