David Gerald in concert one night only, Wed Aug 20th at Parklane Park, 155th & SE Main St. Part of the Portland Parks & Recreation's Summer Free For All program
David Gerald, the son of Mississippi born and raised parents, grew up to the sounds of the blues and R&B music in his hometown, Detroit. Gerald started playing guitar at the age of 16, influenced by Prince and 80's rock guitarists. He rediscovered the blues and listened to the music of Albert King, ZZ Hill, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, to name just a few.
Gerald performed in many local blues, R&B, and rock bands cutting his guitar and vocal chops live and in person. Now in his 40's, Gerald is playing nationally with his own band. This summer, he will be performing at clubs and festivals across the United States. Don't miss this opportunity!
Folks should bring a blanket or chairs. They can bring a picnic or snacks -- or purchase them from the vendors -- Bora Bora (grilled chicke plus tacos, burritos) and Scoop (hand-made ice cream).
You can find more information about this group, including videos & samples of their music at: http://www.davidgerald.com/presskit.php. See you at the concert!

After leaving a paved trail, we will enter a gravel path under a canopy of old growth forest. This leads to a cedar-lined shore trail with abundant Indian-plum, holly and elderberry. We’ll pause at an observation deck to view wildlife and mansions on the opposite shore. Then we’ll cross two wide bridges, the first across a marshland into an oak woodland. The second bridge is near Lacamas Creek and fancy-fenced ponds under power lines. Bring water and snacks for our break and wear sturdy walking shoes.
