Join us as staff presents an overview of the preferred approaches to address issues with the City's development rules. The solutions will address concerns about how the City reviews and allows food and beverage carts and temporary uses (including carnivals, special events, farmers' markets, commercial stands, agricultural product sales and other uses of a temporary nature).
An open house will begin at 6:30PM and will be followed by the community forum at 7PM.

The Beauty of the Visible and Invisible Night Sky
Join planetarium director Pat Hanrahan as he shows visitors how to locate the planets and prominent constellations, star clusters, galaxies and nebulae. You don't want to miss this exciting monthly star adventure into our universe.

Last show this school year. Planetarium shows will return next fall. -->
Each 45-minute show is presented under a realistic representation of the night sky, featuring the latest galactic, stellar and planetary images.
Visitors are encouraged to ask questions during each 45-minute program. Children are welcome to attend.

Birds of Prey Lecture
Hawks, eagles and falcons have always fascinated people. Metro naturalist James Davis will discuss how to tell these groups of raptors apart and the key points for identifying the most common species in Oregon. You will also learn about the natural history of birds of prey and the amazing adaptations of these birds for catching and killing their prey.
In addition to slides, there will be stuffed study skins of the most common species for up-close looks. This class will get you primed for the Metro's Raptor Road Trip Feb 9th on Sauvie Island, or any outings of your own.

American Heart Association CPR/AED Training taught by Gresham Fire Fighters. Seats are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis. Registration is required. There is a $10.00 non-refundable registration fee for this class. The training is provided free of charge and students can take home a class workbook if they choose to.

The Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations was formed to provide structure and support for the leadership of Gresham's neighborhood associations, enabling more effective cooperation among neighborhood associations in order to achieve desired outcomes. Goals of the Coalition include providing a public forum for the review and evaluation of issues and problems, providing education and information on specific areas such as land use, and providing a unified voice for the neighborhood associations.
The Coalition meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00PM

Join us for a Renewable Energy Open House to review the draft Code describing how and where we should allow renewable energy technologies like solar, wind, biomass, geothermal and micro-hydro energy systems.
The Renewable Energy project:

  • Encourages renewable energy development in appropriate locations while protecting the natural environment, the social and economic quality of life and the design of the built environment
  • Updates the City's Community Development Plan Goals, Policies and Code Standards concerning renewable energy
  • Creates a clear review process for renewable energy projects
